  • Mandating Electronic Use of Prescribing Medication?!

    in Health

Today guest is Dr. Sean Kelly, Chief Medical Officer for Imprivata and an emergency physician in Boston. We'll be discussing about electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) and I-STOP.
NorthShore University HealthSystem (Chicago) will be giving a talk at this year's HIMSS Conference entitled “Improving Patient Safety and Provider Satisfaction with EPCS,” in which they will focus on the strategies and technologies to enable EPCS to streamline order workflow, reduce patient wait times for prescriptions, improve provider and patient satisfaction, reduce prescription errors, and help meet Meaningful Use goals. EPCS is a newer, emerging technology that is just now moving into the national healthcare IT spotlight because of what’s happening in New York State.
In New York, groundbreaking legislation known as I-STOP will take effect on March 27. It is the first of its kind in the nation, and mandates that all medications be prescribed electronically, including highly addictive opioids and other controlled substances. New York is the first state to require electronic prescribing, which is a major shift in how medications will be prescribed. It should help address prescription drug abuse while also making it easier for patients in need to get their medications (no more bringing a prescription to the pharmacy and waiting for it to be filled).

  • LIVE! with Cathi---Surrender to your highest good!

    in Fitness

Eleanor Roosevelt said and I quote...
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dream!"
Are you willing to define "what you want" and let of attachment  to 'HOW IT SHOWS UP."  Are you willing to surrender the belief that you always HAVE TO BE IN CONTROL.
What do you want to manifest in your life, how do you attune your mind to choose  what you want to manifest.  The practice of surrendering seems so frightening.  Does the idea of letting-go and allowing make you feel like your whole life will fall apart.  For a greater life to emerge for you, you have to let-go and then in letting-go a greater life could emerge for you.  Can you hold the belief that you don't always need to be IN CONTROL.
The dreams you believe in can come true...etc.
    Let-Go and Trust...etc.
    Control is really an illusion...etc.
Signs that it's time to surrender...etc.
    Trust the process of life...etc.
