Ignoring a narcissist is critical, and ignoring a narcissist is crucial when a narcissist tries to punish you.
Narcissists love to get your reaction. As soon as they do, you are handing power away.
And … when a narcissist hooks you in, everything you used to think is tipped upside down and turned on its head. We hand power away and can be significantly abused.
Until we know better we think that combatting a narcissist is the answer, but it isn’t.
IGNORING them is … and please learn the five ways to DO this in our POWER in this week’s radio show.
Sometimes, a better strategy or system isn’t what you need to get to the next level in a certain area of life. You may already have strategies and systems that are good enough to get you there. What you may be lacking is the “firepower” to get the most out of what you’re already doing.

In our very first episode, Nate G talks with Dr. Doug Lisle, PhD about the purpose of life, happiness vs. pleasure, and the psychological mechanisms that guide our behavior.
Dr. Lisle talks about some important findings that suggest that the purpose of life (biologically) is quite simple - to spread our own genes and ensure their survival into the next few generations. Because of this, our entire biology, physiology, and psychology is built around this goal. It's been like this for the entire history of our species and we have survived in nature due to this goal. All of a sudden, comes the modern environment of convenience and innovation in an incredibly short time frame. With this new environment comes a new set of challenges that our brains were never designed to solve. In this podcast and in future episodes, Dr. Lisle methodically describes what role the mind and, therefore, our behavior plays in our life experience and satisfaction.

While only 2% of suicides are murder-suicides, the narrative of this tragedy dominates public consciousness. Due to the fact that the circumstances are horrific, and the media reports on these stories more frequently and with more details than most other community tragedies, it’s not surprising that we feel overwhelmed. What is often not discussed is the unimaginable grief and trauma left behind in the families of the perpetrators. In my interview with Sue Klebold, mother of Columbine shooter Dylan Klebold, we learn more about why she spent many years in hiding and what she is doing now so that other families don’t have to experience what hers did.
About Sue Klebold
Sue Klebold is the mother of Dylan Klebold, one of the two shooters at Columbine High School in 1999 who killed 13 people and injured more than twenty others before taking their own lives. Since the tragedy, Sue has worked to understand the crucial intersection between mental health problems and violence. From her book, A Mother’s Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy (Crown, 2016) she is donating all author profits to mental health and suicide prevention organizations. She is a member of the Loss and Healing Council of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and a member of the Consumer Survivor Subcommittee of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
