most every aspect of our American (AND THE WORLD) Lives. One can argue this way or that way as to what is the underlying cause of this seeming epidemic - however I have come to understand that as an ALCOHOLIC - "I" have a sort of a Mental Disease...the ultimatye cause appears to be based on a feeling of HOPELESSNESS - simply translated - means I had lost my Faith in a HIGHER POWER. AHAH! That was then - TODAY I have rekindled this Faith and Trust in My Higher Power - with whom "I" Choose to call GOD - JESUS - and I can proudly say that I am now Alcohol free for over 20 years 8 months and 18 days (as of today 5/18/16). Yesterday May 21st, I was the Master of Ceremonies (MC) fro our local towns Sprinf Festival - something that one time would have frightened me into believeing that the only way I could do this was to be totally Liquored up! I even thought I was funnier - and perhaps I was. However I was a Big Hit - people seemed to enjoy themselves AND I even made it on the inside page 2 of our Local Newspaper. Of course the caption missed the mark as to what I was there for - but who cares - I wasn't a Sad Story of Loss & Legal Consequences. Rather I was one of FUN & LAUGHTER & ENGAGEMENT..Much more satisfying for sure.
