On the April 16, 2014 episode of Liberal Dan radio.
SCIENCE! I went to Tulane University on Monday to see Neil deGrasse Tyson speak about a plethora of different things. He was really great. If you have seen him speak about science before you would know that he is really awesome but in person made it that much better. I will review some of the things that he went over in his presentation and why I believe he could go into a career in politics and be awesome at it. He is not only brilliant, but he also has a love for this country that allowed his genius to grow.
As Dr. Tyson seeks to make our nation smarter, the Food Babe is helping to dumb down our nation. She is responsible for getting Subway to remove the "yoga mat ingredient" from their bread recipie. She is now trying to claim that the Doubletree Hotel has anti-freeze in the free cookies given to guests. I will explain why her tactics are irresponsible.
Finally, I will also talk about poker star Phil Ivey. He is facing potential charges for what a casino calls cheating. But is it really cheating? Does government go too far to protect casinos? I will go into that as well.
Those topics, headlines, tweet of the week and more, Wednesday at 8pm central.

YeYe says, "I am YeYe Angel Lyke Saint. I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, and I am a certified health worker. My experience began in 1988, working on a Demonstration Project funded by the Centers for Disease Control researching behaviors that place people at risk for HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis and other high risk sexual and drug related behaviors.
In 1996, I began a project funded by the Texas Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control on Harm Reduction, which dealt with decriminalizing drugs. I also worked on a Syphilis Elimination Project. The programs were historically based. They led to my realization about the importance of advising people to learn the connection of diseases from the past to the present.
I help my audience make informed health care decisions through their own research. My motto is 'Don't take my word for it; go and read it for yourselves.'"

Another anti-SSM type gets called out and the Senate socialist wants in. These trends are much more exciting and worthy of discussion than winger rants about talkshow hosts.
We'll discuss the ethics and legality of Brendan Eich crawling away from hsi Mozilla CEO post. Public records showed he gave a measly grand to uphold Prop 8. The board knew thatt, hired him anyway, but the Mozilla geeks, community and staff, screamed when they found out about it. He'd left on his own, but wingers rend their garments. They'd like all contributions to be in the dark too.
Back on the 2016 map, Bernie Sanders has 'em squirming. The self-ID'ed democratic socialist U.S. Senator from Vermont, a oner in Congress, is poised to announce a run for President. Yes, of these United States. Suppostion is that he'd do it to make Dems declare their principals rather than mealy mouthing. He'd want the party to show its populist/leftist colors.
Our side doesn't have the clown show in the center ring that the GOP does. A Sanders move coudl be just the right catalyst to liven up the race. In debates alone, his presence and plain talking would force a definable set of planks from each other candidate. Hmmmm.

This episode will focus on PUBLIC EDUCATION. We are honored to have 3 guests who know a bit about the subject. We aim to have them all join in the end of show discussion on the topic. *Our first guest is Sharon Thomas, a friend of two former guests (Scott & Cara Prior). She is running for Superintendent of Public Instruction in Arizona because, as she puts it, "it is time to put an educator back in charge of education in Arizona!" Ms. Thomas is a sixth-generation Arizonan. She has taught for ten years, from the kindergarten level up to college. She is a single mother of two. She has been active in the community as a political leader and activist for over two decades. She is a current teacher in high school & she writes curriculum and trains teachers. Tune in at the top of the 7pm Eastern hour to hear from her: https://www.facebook.com/sharonforarizona *Our second guest is a two-time previous guest (friend) of The Social Spitball Show. Jeremy VanHooser was a recent candidate for Colorado State House. If you heard Jeremy's previous conversations with us, you know that this young man has a bright future in public service and a great grasp of the issues. Public Education is one of those issues. We will talk more Jeremy about this and more in our second conversation: https://www.facebook.com/vanhooserforHD1 *Our 3rd guest is NM Public Ed. Comm. (District 10) Jeff Carr. He is dedicated to the success of Public Education & will lead an important discussion on Education/Public Ed, following our interview. Carr received a BA in Social Studies Ed. from LSU and a MA in History from La. Tech. Carr is currently teaching at Taos High School in Taos, NM. Sounds like a great show...Let's get the conversation going...
