National Network In Action International President Rev. Dr. Floyd D. Harris, Jr is known around the world as the Peoples Preacher, Political, and Civil Rights leader. Co-host, Dr. Jean Kennedy is a organizational Psychology and Behavioral teacher from Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Harris has embraced the teaching of the Honorable Marcus Garvey Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism. Mr. Garvey was a self educated man and founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association dedicated to promoting African American and resettlement in Africa. Mr. Garvey launch several businesses to promote a separate black nation.
The RED, BLACK and GREEN Flag was unveiled to the world by the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey and the members of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League of the World at it's first International Convention on August 13, 1920. The UNIA-ACL knew that Africans at home and abroad needed their own flag as other flags around the world could not represent the collective of African people. Mr. Garvey traveled throughout the United States speaking and meeting with African American Leaders. In the post World War 1 economic crisis and with racial discrimination, lynching and poor housing, the masses of Black people were ready for a leader who was aggressive and had a plan to "uplift the race". The U.N.I.A. grew quickly and by 1919 there were over 30 branches throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Latin America and Africa. Mr. Garvey claimed over a million people had joined his organization in 3 years.
