SORT BY Relevancy
From Marcus Garvey to Elijah Muhammad the platform of Black Nationalism has been the key of liberation for decades but has been properly picked up and applied by the masses. J. Edgar Hoover vowed to stop the growth of Black Nationalism and ultimately the rise of a Black Messiah, who could unite the minds and hearts of Black people into one NATION. In true warrior form we will piss on his bones and make his effort fail. June 25...The Groundwork for a Black Nation.
Black Nationalism In the strictest meaning of the term, black nationalism refers to those ideas and movements that are associated with the quest to achieve separate statehood for African Americans. The goal of statehood was especially important during the “classical” period of black nationalism—the time of Marcus Garvey (the 1920s) and of the early activists who preceded him. During the “modern” period, especially after World War II, black nationalism encompasses more broadly both those who favored true political sovereignty through separate statehood, and those who favored more modest goals like black administration of vital private and public institutions—the latter being the common cause of those who invoked the slogan of “Black Power” after 1966. Black nationalism must always be understood in its historical context, therefore, as particular ideas and movements invariably bear the marks of their respective eras.
Please join us Sunday at 10AM CST as we converse with Daryl Bates & Dr. Keisha Pitt, founders of The New Black Codes.
We began The New Black Codes after realizing that our community was in serious peril. With the media in frenzy over the recent crimes against our community, we decided that something had to be done, and done now! We didn’t want to just sign a petition or talk within our family and friends about all the issues our community has. We believed our community needed real change. We researched the statistics on our wealth, assets, family life, and health compared to other racial groups. The results were so alarming we got to work right away. We believe this change can only come with improving all of these categories. We cannot play victims any longer because the laws keeping us back has been removed. We now must be the players in this game.
Besides thriving to improve our community, personally we enjoy spending time with our family and friends. Dr. Keisha Pitt is a successful chiropractor and Daryl Bates is a thriving business owner. Both have a love for learning and charity.
Abibifahodie (Black Liberation),
There is a question that has been brewing in the Black community for a few years now. Why are Black women the #1 supporters in the Black community for "homosexuality?" Every time Black people, in particular Black men, make criticisms about effeminine Black male misbehavior, there is a Black woman who comes to the defense of the "homosexuals."
How do Black women expect for their daughters to get married to Black men when they support the most negligent Black male disfunction ever created? More importantly, on this radio program, we will examine the question,
"Why Do Black Women Support the Very Behavior That Ensures They Will Never Get Married and That the Black Community Will Be Exterminated?"
We will discuss the black church, black secular community and its claim of the social justice mantle. Everybody wants to claim that they marched with MLK and had tea with MalcolmX. Was that really the case? Let's talk about this and more.
Were the Black Power Movement and Civil Rights Movement started and maintained by the black church?
Were the Black Power Movement and Civil Rights Movement started and maintained by the secular community?
Were these movements supported and funded by the black church? What percentage? ...and more...
How were black womens issues handled by the church? Were they supportive or patriarchal in approach?
Although women started, funded and maintained these movements, they were pushed to the back. Current movements are being spearheaded by women.
Is that why the response has been dismal from the black church?
Is that why the response has been dismal from the black community?
Is that why the response has been dismal from the black secular community?
Is the old Civil Rights Vanguard attempting to co-opt these movements from the young people who started them?
This movement is inclusive of ALL BLACK LIVES. Is that why you some black men rejecting it? Do they believe that the focus should be on Black men and then they will help the women? Are we falling for that trick again?
That and more.
