The church at Ephesus was one of the outstanding churches of the apostolic era. Paul, Timothy, and John all served this church in the first century of the Christian era. Aquila and Priscilla were also very actively involved at Ephesus, as was Apollos. This was a privileged church, indeed! Yet,  as time wore on, they had begun to lose their priority and became preoccupied with other things.
