Join Dr. Denise Gotautis with Co hosts as we welcome and interview Aviva Allison Gottlieb an Ashkenazi, African Jewish Cultural Dancer

Aviva Allison Gottlieb

Aviva Gottlieb made aliyah from Brooklyn, NY over 4 years ago to Ramat Beit Shemesh with her husband Adam and her five children Chani, Yael, Avinoam, Yocheved, and Frayda

Aviva works full time remotely at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC as the Education and Communications Director in the Grants and Contracts Office.

After taking a 15 year break from dance,  Aviva began dancing again about 2 years ago  Aviva has a love of all types of African dance with over 15 years of African dance experience in styles and rhythms from West Africa (Sabar and Djembe) and Haiti.  The power of dancing to African drums lifts the spirit to our Heavenly Father in Shamayim, and she finds and connects Jewish themes to the many of the dances.  She loves teaching women and choreographing and performing these unique and exuberant expressions of the soul.  Aviva teaches a beginner weekly African dance class and sometimes a more contemporary Afrobeats style as well. You can find Aviva Gottlieb’s dances on Instagram.
