The Independent state of mind of today's up and coming music artist, really indicates a signs of making it happen. However one would only question their readiness to do business. The big question here is, it mean they must go does at it alone, should they consider Artist Development or even professional consultation?

My name is Fritz "Aces" Sakran and I am from Liverpool, NY, a town right outside of Syracuse. I have been rapping for about four years now. The label StillCheezin Records was thought up between my old partner Andy "AK" Kottage and I. We are both from Syracuse but were living in Buffalo at the time, him for school me for a life change. We decided to build a studio inside a closet we had and put a mixtape out entitled Mic Check 01.02.12 which actually came out on January 2nd, 2012.
We ended up moving back to Syracuse, building a studio to never use it again. Life got in the way he ended up getting into a relationship and music got sent to the back burner. I too became involved with someone for many months before she moved back to Rouses Point, NY, a small town outside Plattburgh.
After a 6 month now long distance relationship, I decided to quit my job at The Cheesecake Factory and move to her on June 1st, 2014. Still no music for the first six months I was here either. Until I showed some old songs to my new neighbor and he went crazy for it! After that reaction, I decided to post the old stuff on Facebook to see what would happen. The feedback was overwhelming to say the least!
After that I decided to once again build a "closet studio" and start recording again. This time with more confidence and even more excitement! Soon after I started to attend open mic nights and the reaction was even greater! I now record new music every few weeks with constant open mic night performances which I tape to show my fans back home! I have recently rised as high as #4 on my city's Reverbnation chart and I am not stopping until I reach the top!!!
Sadly, my only brother is locked away in a prison near Albany for a few years and I rarely get a chance to talk to him. I also haven't written him in quite some time, his name is Aaron. I am currently writing my latest mixtape titled "Letters to Aaron," which is coming out later this summer.
