We've always tried to set PRs and impress our friends with, "I can do 1000 reps of X!" But do the reps matter as much as the amount of time spent with your muscles under tension? We often lift quick to get max reps and even though it has it's advantages in certain situations it probably isn't the way you should train all the time. Learn why exercising slower can be more beneficial in some cases. It's not always about how much you can lift and how many times but how long you can "hold" it!
