Endurance and Perseverance: A Sign of Spiritual Growth

    in Spirituality

Endurance suggests a life of movement that has not been worn down by hindrances. It is not a state of rest like ‘standing still’ because this would mean regression. Tune in this week as Lisa Jones and I discuss endurance as a state of self-containment and renewal. Those of us who have endured life’s journey were able to do so because of an integration of multiple endings. Those endings were reached by inward movement, expansion, contraction, and new beginnings. The seasons of the year follow a fixed law of change and transformation that produce the effects of endurance. Tonight’s show is about how human beings that are dedicated to their lives can endure their circumstances by finding meaning in their journey.

    Running Your Race With Endurance

    in Christianity

Some time in your life you've heard these words....."No matter what don't ever give up". And yet at times don't we find ourselves at the brink, just toying with that possiblity that maybe I should quit. But perhaps the more important question is what or who are we quiting on? What causes us to want to throw in the towel? What causes us to simply walk away and give up and quite on our jobs, marriages , kids, and ulitimately find ourselves in a deep dark place wanting to give up on God, cause its just too hard to live the Christian life. Well, thanks be to almighty God for his great faithfulness, love and devotion that he never gives up on us, no matter where you've been in life, how tough it is to battle your circumstances, temptations trials and tribulations. And there's really a lot more at stake when we don't finish our race, theres a legacy at stake, others see our testimony of faith or lack of it. So we always need the helping hand of the Savior to pick us up, wipe the dust off and continue running the race we were called to run with endurance.

    Run with Endurance

    in Religion

    Romans 15: 5
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unityamong yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,

Run the Christian Race with Endurance

The only way we can abide in His presence is by means of His cleansing blood.

Helen Lemmel's hymn says it so beautifully:
    Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
    Look full into His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

When you are running the race of life you don't have time to look around. You have to keep your eyes focused on Jesus.Jesus Christ is the "author and perfecter of our faith." No one or anything else will do. He is the Beginning and the End. "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6).

When you keep your eyes on yourself you will become spiritually weary and discouraged.

    Performance-Endurance Hydration and Feeding Strategies

    in Sports

We’ve invited Dr. Allen Lim and Jason Donald to share insights on how, what and when to hydrate, the importance of electrolyte and energy replacement and feeding strategies while training and racing.  Jason was an elite professional cyclist who spent a few years as a member of the Garmin professional cycling team and Dr Lim also served as team physiologist for Garmin before founding SKRATCH LABS an innovative company that produces whole food performance electrolyte replacement and energy products for endurance athletes.  Feeding, hydrating and electrolyte replacement is a critical aspect of performance and these two guys made their bones in international cycling competition where to survive, you have to get it right. No matter what level of competition, be it professional, recreational marathon running, obstacle racing, triathlon or cycling.  This is a great episode to pay close attention to.
