Cynthia Echterling was born in and currently lives in Northwest Indiana. In between, she has lived in Georgia,Texas and North Carolina. She was stationed at Fort Bragg while serving in the military. She studied psychology and worked as a employment and training counselor. She has had a long time interest in anthropology, paleontology and cognitive studies. Her fiction asks the question: What does it mean to be Human? Originally a short story, Scavengers won the Sigrid Starke Literary Awards and Purdue University Literary Awards. Torqed: The Quest for Earth began as a dream. She also writes the humorous science fiction series, Help Wanted,Human; autobiographical journals of Stephen Wytrysowski, alien interpreter. She claims Steve is her invisible friend from a parallel universe.
