Haiti is not materially developed because the colonists and their local oligarchs are about private gain, not the collective good and keep Haiti in misery and poverty the better to fleece it dry. The people work hard, everyday but colonial laws deny Haitians fair and equal access to world markets while allowing foreigners to dump themselves and their poisoned foods and Monsanto economy on Haiti farmers. Haiti has always been a fiscal paradise for the colonists, their mulatto subcontractors who are the billionaires of the Caribbean, their private militias and few Black House Negroes. Did you suddenly file for U.S. citizenship, Wyclef Jean, after you ran for president of Haiti in 2010? Inquiring minds wanna know. Bill and Hillary Clinton apparently also believed the press they manufactured. No wonder Hillary Clinton wrote a book to ask: What Happened? The U.S. Black and the Haiti resistance to your ruthless CORRUPTION, mass incarceration and brutality against Black people worldwide is what happened.
