Mothers And Daughters: Bridging The Cultural Generation Gap

Culture evolves through women, primarily based on what we teach our daughters. The aberrations in our culture, everything from excessive hair weaves to "twirking" on a YouTube video, evolves out of a message given to our daughters of what they must do to be acceptable females. Mothers can only pass down the wisdom they have, and when mothers come from a generation that defines success as a dollar amount on a paycheck, many mothers were driven to put full energy into a job or career and leave the child rearing to the TV. This, of course, has produced disasterous results. Now mothers are reconnecting with their daughters to examine what lessons can be learned from both the elders and the youth as we prepare to work together to create a new culture
