In 2005 the people of Lebanon staged the Cedar Revolution to throw out the Syrian-backed Lebanon. At first it was a glowing success with widespred international support. Alas, since then an aggressive Iran has acted unceasingly to undermine Lebanese independence through its Syrian and Hezbollah proxies. Author Michael Totten covered events in Lebanon during some of the most tense moments in recent years, and his book "The Road To Fatima Gate" recounts his experiences on the ground.
