19th century U.S. Naval Officer David Porter is quoted as saying “Litigation is the basic legal right that guarantees every corporation its decade in court”. Yes, we live in a litigious society and, if this quote is any indication it is not a recent development! As an entrepreneur, spending a “decade in court” is certainly not what you went into business for.
