Does Agile and Scrum have to be the default for software delivery teams? And if so, why?  I like this question because sometimes we accept things as norm or the new norm when in fact we do not know who decided or even when it became the new norm.  I have witnessed Agile become the new norm in the last 8 years and the fact that it is almost 22 years, the longevity stands for something.   I've been in software delivery 30 years, so 15 of those years was watching methodology and then frameworks come and go.
