3: 79. It is not (possible) that a man to whom is given the Book and Wisdom and the prophetic office should say to people: "Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah's; on the contrary (he would say): [Rabbaniyina]: "Be of those who are possessed of Command, Authority and Mastery in systems of knowledge  by what you are teaching of the Book and by what you are studying."

    UnScripted - Mental Health NOW

    in Education

Join UnScripted as we welcome author Patricia Tilley a licensed mental health professional.  In tonight's episode, we discuss the mental health needs of individuals, focusing primarily on depression and trauma.
Pat Tilley is a licensed mental health counselor, associate pastor, veteran and author. She is married, has three adult sons, four amazing grandchildren and a rescue dog, Annie. They all live in Florida. Pat has a heart to help others overcome their life challenges as she felt like the underdog in history and had to overcome her own challenges with depression, anxiety, disappointment, worry, fear, and a big boatload of stress. That is only naming some of them. Overcome she did, and miraculously so with the Lord showing up with His mighty intervention and with support from family and friends.
Pat has counseled children and teenagers who have struggled with school, their families and depression, anger, fear and lack of self-confidence. Pat counseled and facilitated groups for adults who battled with a host of life problems in their marriages, family life, and with their disappointments, stress, worry, loneliness and finding their purpose. Pat served in the army and later ended up working for the sheriff department where she was in charge of the veteran’s program. The veterans worked on resiliency, regrets, anxiety and negative thinking.

Another Fork in the Road - Coping with Physical Disabilities After Brain Injury

    in Education

Brain injury comes in all shapes and sizes. It affects everyone differently. It is unique! Some brain injury is visible. Some is not. We call that "invisible" brain injury. I often talk about "invisible" brain injury on my shows. But, on tonight's show, caregiver and author, Jeannette Davidson-Mayer, and survivor, Dr. David Figurski will join me to talk about how physical and obvious brain injury affects their lives. Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life-plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College plans, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slip from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life-happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating. But as Yogi Berra once said, "If you come to a fork in the road, take it." Life is all about choices! To learn more about me, please visit my blog and website.
