Upon seeing a religious object so revered as the cross, what immediately comes to mind? Suffering?  Redemption? Hope?  Salvation?  Other Christian practices or rites?  How often do many Christians establish some type of spiritual connection with the cross?

Recently, Pope Francis stated, “He who does not look to the cross with faith will die in his sins, will not receive salvation.”  Is this statement scriptural?  Does our salvation truly lie in putting our faith in an instrument used ancient societies to slowly, cruelly, and painfully execute criminals?  What does the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible say about the cross?  Are we justified in placing our faith in the cross our should we place our faith elsewhere? Join us today as we investigate the cross, and its significance in our lives.
