Much of the violence in the urban community is self inflicted by yesterday's neglected, rejected and abused children who have now come of age and are terrorizing the neighborhoods with senseless violence. The adults who draw youth into organized crime capitalize on broken homes, absent fathers and overwhelmed mothers and grandmothers. The evil of guns and drugs is just as deadly as police with fire hoses and attack dogs in keeping communities in a state of terror.
