Disasters: Are they an act of GOD, Nature, Man-made, or somethingelse?

Through out time, Man has time and time again been perplexed about disasters, when they are coming, and what damage is it going to bring. If you believe in GOD, then you are getting your just deserts as it relates to punishment for being disobedient. If it is nature that is doing these things, then we relate it to science and other philosophies. Still, when calamities happen, we ignore the signs and refuse to prepare for them properly.
