Tonight- How the "Drug War" plays a part in the rash of shooting and killing of black men and police officers. And- it has been known that there is a reduction of opiate abuse and overdoses in states with medical marijuana laws. Now, a new study proves the assumption that it is because cannabis is available in these states and people choose to use it instead of other prescription pain killers

Joining us tonight: Diane Wattles Goldstein -is a 21-year veteran of law enforcement who retired as the first female lieutenant for the Redondo Beach Police Department, (CA).

And co-author of the recent study- Medical Marijuana Laws Reduce Prescription Medication Use In Medicare Part D- published in the journal 'Health Affairs'-David Bradford- who is the Busbee Chair in Public Policy in the Department of Public Administration and Policy at the University of Georgia
