LiVE: Are Blackmen Short Changing Black Women when it comes to LOVE?
Strong Black Women seem to find it extremely challenging to find a worthy mate, companion, or life partner. Even when they do meet a suitable person of interest many times because of his emotional or past challenges, we (the men) take ourselves out of the game. One of the things I hear the most from women is, "I'm not going to raise a grown man." So while he seems suitable in some regards his ability to not handle his own business properly (whatever that may be) becomes a turnoff. Once she feels like she's starting to settle or lower her standards in the relationship or dating phase her guard goes up and the distance begins.
Fellas, if you have found the woman of your dreams do everything in your power to work on yourself! Not for her, but for her! Let me explain; Don't do it to impress her but do it to be a better man for her! As hard as it is for a woman to find a good man, it is equally as hard for a good man to find a good woman. So don't let your past issues or personal issues sabotage a good thing. God has given us the ability to grow and overcome any emotional, or physical challenge we face in this dating game!!! 1. Never portray yourself larger than what you really are:
The day of showing our representative must die! Show her from the door who you really are, and be honest about your intentions no matter what they my be. A Strong Black Woman (S.B.W.) will uncover it in a short amount of time anyway so be yourself. Have a purpose behind dating her! Let her know you have standards also...
2. Follow through:3. Don't play victim:5. Vision:6. Express emotions:7. Money:8. Freedom10. Power Couples
With an unparalleled passion for country music, it comes as no surprise that Skytone Entertainment artist Matt Farris's career has gotten off to a promising start. A heart for helping those in need paired with an incredible talent and positive energy has allowed for the early and natural growth of a significant fan base. All of these characteristics have given Farris a strong foundation on which to build his career – one that, at the hands of another, was almost instantaneously taken away.
After graduating high school, Farris moved to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University and later to Phoenix where he became an emergency medical technician and certified fire fighter through The Glendale Community College Fire Academy – all the while continuing to work on his music. His plight for country music stardom, however, nearly came to a tragic end when an altercation with two strangers trying to steal his father's truck left both Farris and his father shot.
Despite a full schedule, Farris still finds time to give back, supporting both the Make a Wish Foundation and the American Cancer Society – focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness. After losing friend Denise to the disease, he started Denise's Day – an annual benefit in his hometown which can be seen at www.denisesday.org.
"Giving back is extremely important to me. I love everything about what I do. But, more than anything, I love that it allows me a platform to better help those that need it. My music gives others a voice... I love my job."

Sired by classic rock and modern metal ancestors, Tattermask of Charlotte, NC, commingles melodic relics of Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin, Boston, and Whitesnake with modern riffage akin to Disturbed, Alter Bridge, Evanescence, and Sevendust to forge a fresh sound in the mire of mainstream active rock. Driven by dual lead guitarists Josh Wright and Travis Dry; powered by tight, expressive rhythms from Adam Blackmon on drums and Harley Quinn on bass; and garnished with vocals from Amanda Caines that go from Pat Benatar to Adele to Evanescence at the drop of a hat, sonic variety is the ultimate goal of Tattermask's catalogue of original tunes.
The band has just released their latest EP, Carpe Noctem, and they'll be on the show to tell us a little about it, as well as their upcoming gig on the Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock Tour, opening for bands such as The Agonist and Flyleaf; so be sure to tune in!
Music is indeed the universal language. You don't need words to understand a feeling conveyed by a particular piece of music; all it takes is a killer beat to make stadiums of people with vastly different worldviews jump out of their chairs and dance it out. And everyone has a memory of how a particular song served as a soundtrack for a first kiss, a graduation or an unforgettable road trip. Every day, you'll discover how eclectic BlogTalkRadio's music offerings are, as music fans, makers, movers and shakers across the globe share their passion for any and every genre: Adult Contemporary, Dubstep, Hip Hop, R&B, Dance, Jazz, '80s, Classical, Big Band, Country, Children's, Folk, Indie, Oldies, New Age, World, Christian, Opera, Alternative, Broadway, Punk, Rock, Classic Rock, Gospel, Singer-Songwriter and much more.
