Singer/Songwriter Kwame Binea joins the show tonight to share his new EP "Shakedown." We couldn't wait for a Friday Night Dance Party to get Kwame on the program - his music is too important to not share tonight!
"Kwame Binea Shakedown" features four tracks including the group's first single "Let Go" (released in early April), their most recent single, "Hang On" (released in mid-June) and "Little Lady" and "Waiting," which have never been released. Musically, the EP showcases Binea's "roots rock" lineage, which is a fusion of rhythmic rock n' roll, ample dosages of infectious funk, silky soul, screaming blue s and just a smidgeon of reggae and funk. Ty was born in the City of Sumter in South Carolina, where his love for music stemmed. He began doing talent shows at area churches and schools in and around his home town. Ty brought together a quartet named “The Sons of Harmony” where they collectively chose him as lead vocalist. They performed at many talent shows and competitions. After high school he moved to Minnesota to continue his education in the music field at Brown, College while there he joined a trio group and recorded with experienced producers such as; James “Poppa” Guer of “The Time”and others. He also promoted and toured with “The Bad Boyz of R&B V.I.P.” which took him under their wings and taught him about the music business, more than he ever imagined. While interning with this independent music group, Ty began to DJ at “Club Tropix” in downtown Minneapolis with Eric James and obtained notoriety at this club as a rising entertainment genius. After establishing himself at the club as a DJ, Ty began working and developing his self as a solo artist. He then moved back to his hometown in South Carolina and started performing in Columbia, as well as recording at Sumter’s Kiss FM Radio Station. Ty then added to his solo work efforts by winning a promotional bit with the Orlando based reality show “Back to Reality” where he performed weekly at Orlando’s club Blue Room. Ty launched an independent release of the EP album “EarCandy”, which can be found on I tunes, Napster, Rhapsody, and Amazon stores. Ty is a true smooth “crooner like” artist. Nathan East. debuts The New Cool' With Bob James .. Masterfully “Cool”: An album unlike any other by Bob James and Nathan East
Nashville, Tennessee (7 July 2015): Albums just aren’t made like the way “The New Cool” was made. Yamaha Entertainment Group label president Chris Gero put legendary keyboardist Bob James and master bassist Nathan East in the recording studio, equipped them with state-of-the-art Yamaha gear and gave them free reign to create. Recorded entirely in Nashville, the long-time collaborators emerged with an unexpected and audacious collection of original compositions plus a few handpicked classics, an acoustic jazz outing that will make you forget everything you thought you knew about these GRAMMY®-recognized artists best known as contemporary jazz luminaries. The disc produced by Gero, James and East will be released September 18.
“The New Cool” unfolds much in the way the meticulously-crafted project was conceived. The germ begins organically with a couple of intimate James and East duets. Pastoral piano wanderings explore the outer perimeter of straight-ahead jazz where they peruse, mirror and engage with meandering bass lines. In fact, more than half of the record’s compositions written by James and/or East are sparsely-produced, probing piano and bass sojourns. As the seed sprouts, dramatic orchestral accoutrements added by the Nashville Recording Orchestra illuminate the piano, keyboard and bass explorations, contributing hues that are warmly rustic and autumnal or whimsically vibrant. James challenges with deftly inventive arrangements on complex pieces like “All Will Be Revealed” while East counts off supple rhythms that are astutely measured and metered.

You don't need words to understand a feeling conveyed by a particular piece of music; all it takes is a killer beat to make stadiums of people with vastly different worldviews jump out of their chairs and dance it out. And everyone has a memory of how a particular song served as a soundtrack for a first kiss, a graduation or an unforgettable road trip. Every day, you'll discover how eclectic BlogTalkRadio's music offerings are, as music fans, makers, movers and shakers across the globe share their passion for any and every genre: Adult Contemporary, Dubstep, Hip Hop, R&B, Dance, Jazz, '80s, Classical, Big Band, Country, Children's, Folk, Indie, Oldies, New Age, World, Christian, Opera, Alternative, Broadway, Punk, Rock, Classic Rock, Gospel, Singer-Songwriter and much more.
