8/15 Malfeasance in the media - Can the mainstream press be trusted at all?

From high drama and low ratings at CNN to the suspicious reporting at the NYT and Washington Post to the questionable tactics at MSNBC and others, can we trust the mainstream media and those that present themselves as journalists? The obvious answer is no in the Rachel Maddow and Jim Ascosta era. Across this nation the distrust is growing. Recent polls suggest 53% of Democrats hold an unfavorable view of the the press. Independents an alarming 79% and a staggering 94% of Conservatives polled believe today's media lacks credibility and integrity. 

What does the future of mainstream media look like? And where do we turn for honest reporting as we approach what may be the most contentious Presidential election since the mid 19th century.
