Have you ever experienced participating in a workshop or doing a process or taking a medicine that works on most people, and yet on you, it doesn't? You are simply too special: the things that are insured to work for most have no effect on you whatsoever. What fear is hiding behind "your" healing resistance?

At first, this form of specialness may boost the ego: heck, being chosen is an honor, isn't it? Yet this subtle form of discrimination comes with a hefty price, and eventually has us spiral down into "I'm not enough; I can't make it work like other people do... Why can't I be more ordinary?" Eventually, the illusion of separation is so great that we will exclaim: "If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh?" And a miracle occurs: as soon as I accept that there is just One story of pain and that, just like you, I have known loneliness, sadness and anger, I am not far from accepting that a global cosmology must exist somewhere.
