    Ego Friend or Foe

    in Spirituality

The Ego friend or foe? Really is it a friend or foe? In truth it can be a great teacher? Satan the great tempter is the ego. It is the ego that tempts us into so many things yet at the same time it is showing us where we are potentially weak. When we are shown these things we can give in to them or we can overcome them? If we overcome then then is the ego not our teacher? In India there is a saying that goes, when the student is ready the teacher will come? This has many maenaings one of which is exactly what is being suggested here. The Ego can be that great teacher if we learn to listen to it and then use it to guide use to truth. Truth is always in front of us being ever present the ego can guide us to this truth by opening our eyes to what we give in to. It, the ego can be our friend or our foe depending on how we use it. Everything in life is a teacher if we simply observe. If we observe then we are able to view the parts of events not just the events themselves. Every experience is a teacher of what to do or what not to do? Teachers guided by and for the ego until wew awaken to truth of being which ego has the ability to guide us to.
