Finding high quality seafood can be challenging and confusing. Is it wild or farmed? Where was it caught? How has it been handled?

With recent rising concerns about the amount of mercury found in tuna in particular, many people are steering clear of it all together out of fear, or they turn to expensive alternatives where fish is only a "treat" in their house.

I've tried several low-mercury brands from the health food store myself but I was never really crazy about the taste. Then I ran across a really cool company called  Vital Choice

I was impressed with how transparent they were with exactly where their fish came from, how they were handled and freezed, and their specialized techniques that ensure a reduced rate of mercury in their fish. So I decided to give it a try. The Ventresca is so succulent, I just eat it straight out of the easy pull-top can! AND the best part is that it is really reasonably priced.

So after several months of phone tag, I was finally able to get the Founder and President of Vital Choice, Randy Hartnell,  to come on the show to talk about how we can make sure the fish we consume is healthy and safe to eat (including what to NEVER buy from the grocery store!). Oh, and did I mention he used to be a former Alaskan Fisherman? He has some insightful stories for us about that too.
