When and where did it all begin.  Even in a field so concerned as fashion is with what is current, a backward look is essential in evaluating trends and anticipating those of the future.

It's important to know the roots of fasion so that we may explore why people put on clothes in the first place.  There are three basic reasons why people wear clothes...DECORATION...PROTECTION and MODESTY.
