1995...seventeen years ago, this article appeared in the Chicago Tribune on Dec. 31, 1995.

Marketers who try to treat over 50 Boomers the same way they have treated previous "mature" consumer groups are doomed for failure.  They would be ignoring the largest, richest and biggest spending segment in the History of American Marketing.  Cheryl Russel, author of the Master Trend, "How the Baby Boomer generation is remaking America.

2012, "I won't grow up, I won't grow up."  Peter Pan is alive and well.  The country's largest generation is running, walking, swimming and using exercise machines in hopes to change the face of aging!  Marketers are you listening.  Baby Boomers...78 million Americans born between 1946-1964 are working to counteract the effects of getting older.  They grew-up watching Jack Lalanne and were the first generation where large numbers exercised from their early years onward.
