This is a story about a young boy named Milton who has a social and learning disability. Just like many people Milton has an interest and a hobby. He enjoys collecting buttons that he finds or that he is given. Milton is not as outgoing as his school mates due to his disability, so, until Joan decides to introduce herself, he did not get to share his outstanding button collection. Together, Joan and Milton made amazing creations. Other classmates joined in the fun after Joan was kind enough to introduce him to her friends. Social inclusion is an important part of a child's emotional, social, and developmental growth. This book gives children a glimpse of how much fun they can have by looking past a persons' differences.

Chelsea McKnight is an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist and Instructor who assists young adults and children diagnosed with Autism. Her past experience as a youth counselor for the Boy’s and Girls club and her B.A. in Human studies and Early Childhood Education, inspired her to write and illustrate a children’s book that motivates children to be friendly to their peers and find a connection with them through their differences. Chelsea received her degree at Saint Mary’s college of Maryland in 2011.

Ms. Chelsea McKnight is our guest.
