In a WPR Rebuttal exclusive, content producer Joseph Ohler, Jr. shares the uncensored, full-length recording of his August 4, 2015 interview for Employment Security Assistant (Tier 3) at the Wisconsin Benefits Center.

Unreleased for nearly a year, Mr. Ohler has opened his recording of this meeting to the masses.

The recording was in a public building amongst public officials for the consideration of his employment. No other candidate’s credentials were discussed; and the assessment questions asked during the interview are unclassified and in the public domain.

Because Mr. Ohler has waived the privacy of his employment-related interview at the Wisconsin Benefits Center by publicly sharing it, his audio recording should be considered lawful and not in violation of anyone’s rights, whether torte or criminal.

To aid the listener’s understanding of events in the recording: Mr. Ohler is greeted by an office program associate (receptionist); given a benefits claim practice assessment (call simulation) in a mock call kiosk; and then interviewed by three panelists.

The key finding is that lead interviewer Dan Rach states, around the 28-minute mark, “…Previous experience is not disqualifying, you know, if you haven’t been in a call center before.”

He thereby contradicts the post-interview assertion of Deputy Chief Legal Counsel (Sheri Pollock), “…The interview panel concluded that his lack of call center experience did not make him a good fit for the position.”

Pollock wrote that in response to Mr. Ohler’s official complaint that the Wisconsin Benefits Center had discriminated against him in violation of certain civil rights characteristics.

It raises questions as to whether Rach knowingly lied during the interview about how important prior call center experience was.
