1pet1vet is an Indiana nonprofit 501 (c) (3) under the Internal Revenue Service.  To ensure our mission and work remains "Veteran-Centered",  our Board includes men and women  who have served in the U.S. armed forces who are committed to improving the lives of fellow soldiers by providing psychological service dogs and K9 companions to our veterans suffering from P.T.S.D. (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), T.B.I. ( traumatic brain injury) and/or other psychological or physical transitional medical conditions  as a result of combat military service post- 9/11 in Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  This has been our daily mission for the past three years, including the past year under our new company name, 1pet1vet Inc. NFP.

Why did we change the name of our organization?  Our previous name was 14ddv.com.  We came to realize it shouldn't be about the total numbers, but rather, about pairing 1 special pet with 1 veteran at a time.   Being able to focus in on each pet and veteran pair gives a new lease on life to both our rescued dogs and our military heroes, empowering our heros to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.  Let's face the facts today:
