    ON THE TRIGGER WITH CRUZ

    in Current Events

TONIGHT CRUZ  WILL BE TALKING ABOUT VETERANS ISSUES ,TRAINING AND THE DRILL OF THE WEEK. HE WILL ALSO BE TALKING WITH HIS GUEST FROM THE R&S FOUNDATION

Mike Mattammal earned a bachelors degree in Political Science from St. Mary's University at San Antonio, TX. Upon graduating in 2003, I made the decision to enlist in the Marine Corps where I spent 8 years, from 2004-2012, serving in the Marine Corp's Reconnaissance community. I served in multiple roles to include pointman, radio operator, assistant team, team leader, platoon sergeant, and operations chief throughout my career. In 2004 I was assigned the duty station of 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, and subsequently became an instructor at the Basic Reconnaissance Course (BRC) in 2008. After 2 years as an instructor I was then stationed at 3rd Force Company in Okinawa Japan from 2010-2012. After deciding to get out of the Marine Corps, The R&S Foundation was created because the network of Recon Marines, Scout Snipers, and SARCs (Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman) were coming across a number of individuals within our own community that were struggling with suicide, and a variety of other issues, now that they were out. Our community was pulling resources together to help our own, and the decision was made to legitimize the help we were giving them, and wanted to give others, so we applied for our 501c3 status and were granted Non-Profit status earlier this year. Our goal is to fill the gaps we can, and help those that have served this country and need it the most. achment -Marine Corps League, Member West Haven Vietnam Veterans Assoc. Special interests include PTSD, Suicide-Resiliance, and homelessness for our Veterans. At our last MCL yearly convention and banquet I was suprised by being inducted into the "Society of "The Chapel Of Four Chaplins" for which I am still humbled. I am proud and honored to serve my fellow man and this country

The Next Mission Radio with special guest Curtis Jones (MR. VA/Gunny)

    in Military

(Tune in to The Next Mission Radio with your host Daniel Mays)

Join us as we go on air with Mr. Curtis Jones (Mr.VA/Gunny) as we dive into some of the issues that surround VA disabilities and ratings. We will be discussing issues and simple things that veterans miss when going to sign for their ratings. Also we will be discussing some other programs that are available for veterans such as the VFW, DAV, American Legion just to name a few.

Curtis Jones is a retired Marine Gunny who joined into the Marine Corps in 1977 during his time in service until his end of service in  1998. Once out of the military he held multiple jobs ranging from work as a security consultant all the way up to working for the FBI and everything else in between. Along with some of the jobs that the Gunny has held he has also volunteered his time and efforts to give back to the Veteran Community by taking part in VFW Post 304, DAV CHAPTER 3, AMERICAN LEGION POST 141, FRA BRANCH 24, and AMVETS.

"I work for the DOD, but my life's mission is to help any and all Vet's that I can. I believe in God and Country in that order and I am willing to die for both! I have always stood up for the underdog and will continue to do so! I am a combat Vet and a wounded warrior even tho you can't see my wounds. I have been in two helicopter crashes. Ran over a landmine in Bosnia, shot in the chest but by the Grace of God my vest took the round, almost taken out by an IED also in Bosnia."-Curtis Jones (Gunny)

So please join us on the air to talk with myself and Mr. Curtis to discuss VA ratings and any questions about the process and local VFW, DAV, and American legions.
