Florence Nightingale was a woman who defied the status quo, caught the old guard in the act of being obsolete, spoke truth to power, and changed the world.  She represents aspects of the Divine Feminine: the fiery, transformative powers of Hindu goddess Kali; the compassion of Christian Mary, the mercy of Chinese bodhisattva Quan Yin; and the intelligence and leadership of ancient Roman goddess, Athena.

Nightingale brings Florence Nightingale’s story to life with original music and scenes that will inspire nurses and all women with a powerful role model, while it dramatizes a crucial part of nursing history. A performance of Nightingale offers spiritual support, not only for nurses, but for all women, with Florence Nightingale as a tremendous role model and image of the Divine Feminine.

HEARTS: Health & Arts, a nonprofit organization, is taking this musical to the nursing and healthcare community and will kick off their First Tour 2019 at Women of Wisdom on February 15, 2019. For more information about Nightingale see: www.HeartsHealthArts.org.

Pamela Gerke has been a part of Women of Wisdom Conferences as composer and music director for many years including: Shawna Carol’s “Goddess Chant” concert in 2000, Pamela’s original opera, "Temple Dreams" in 2001, "Welcome to the World" with playwright Connie Amundson in 2002, and several performances by the Sacred Fire Choir.
