HOW TO SURVIVE ON A TEACHER BUDGET (AND PERHAPS THRIVE) Many people have made financial mistakes and are ready to make a change. That is one of the greatest things about life - like driving in a car, if you are heading in the wrong direction, you are allowed to make that u-turn and get back on course. "A lot of people think that figuring out financial matters and investing are difficult and are intimidated by it. I want to show others that if this 35 year-old school teacher can figure it out then they can too." According to a 2006 study done by the National Education Association, 50% of teachers leave the profession within five years because of poor working conditions and low salaries. Yet, according to the 2006 General Social Survey, teaching ranks among the Top 10 most gratifying jobs with 69% of teachers reporting they were very satisfied with their jobs. But Danny shows us that we can still have a gratifying job and have a great life
