Mike Basile was born in 1966 and grew up dreaming of flying jets and things in space. He graduated high school in Shrub Oak NY in 1984, and earned a BS in Geography from Kansas University in 1990. He was commissioned an officer in the Marine Corps and flew F/A-18s for a few years before finishing his time in the Marines as a flight instructor in Kingsville TX. He moved to Albemarle VA in 2006, where his last kid finished high school. He learned about manufacturing while managing a factory for four years. Now he is studying electronics at PVCC and working at a local electronics production firm. He became involved with the tea party in 2009 and was recently elected president of the Jefferson Area Tea Party.

Rod Gentry is a Charlottesville-Albemarle native, and graduate of Lane High School and Lynchburg College. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and began his career as a realtor with Montague-Miller & Company. He has worked in the banking industry for the past thirty-eight years and was the 2010 Chairman of the Board for the Charlottesville-Albemarle Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Albemarle County Economic Development Authority.
