Mr. Thomas had 11 seasons under his belt as a slugging All-Star for the Pittsburgh Pirates before being traded to the expansion Mets in November of 1961. He proceeded to hit 52 home runs over the course of 3 seasons, including 34 in that 1st season of the franchise. We'll discuss the beginnings of his career, his experience with the Amazin' Mets, as well as his thoughts on the current state of baseball.
