After a long grueling 162 games schedule, the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets will battle for the World Series title. The 2015 World Series marks the 111 meeting between the American League and National League. The AL leads the overall series 63-47.
The Royals are making their second consecutive trip to the series. Last year as the wildcard, the Royals lost in seven games to the San Francisco Giants. After six losing seasons, the New York Mets quietly shocked the baseball world by dominating the NL East. The Mets won the division by seven games over the Washington Nationals who were predicted my many to not only win the Division but win the world series. A preseason article http://espn.go.com/mlb/preview15/story/_/id/12588378/expert-team-predictions-2015-mlb-season polled 88 baseball experts before the season. 37 of the experts (42%) predicted the Washington Nationals would win the World Series.
Both teams have strength in pitching but in a different realm. The Mets could have the edge when it comes to starting pitching but the Royals have the edge in the bullpen. In either case, the traditionalists will tell you that pitching wins. The World Series can not end in a tie, so which team will win the pitching battle?
The Royals lead all postseason teams with a .271 team batting average scoring 63 postseason runs. Surprisingly, with all the attention given to Daniel Murphy and his home streak, the Mets are only batting .235. Both teams have speed and are aggressive on the bases. The Mets have swapped nine bases while the Royals have stolen seven bases. Which team will come through in the clutch?

Jeff is out of town, which means "Podcast Positivity" is back. The Mets have won four games in a row, which is a nice way to rebound from a seven-game losing streak. Greg and I talk about the good times, the Mets' excellent stretch of pitching by young starters, and the nearly-complete lack of offense. We delve into Michael Cuddyer's brutal stretch ever since I purchased a Cuddyer shirsey, Jon Niese's trade value, and plenty more before turning it over to Jeff for an audio update on what he saw in Kingsport—we're calling that the Kingsport Report. And then we return to answer your emails and go off on a few other tangents.
Rob Cesternino is many things: a Survivor alum, amazing podcast host, and all-around nice guy. Just don't confuse him with Boston Rob like I did - seriously top three most mortifying events of my life.
Yes Rob was kind enough to completely overlook my goof and was an AMAZING podcast guest. His passion and knowledge of the Mets is at an expert level and for a moment I completely forgot that he normally podcasts about television shows.
