When men and cultures reject the teachings of the word of God they lose the fear of God, the Lord, and become foolish. The Bible teaches that the fool says in his heart that there is no God. People that deny the God who made them, and the report of His provision for the salvation and redepmtion of men want to be autonomous. They look for something other than God to give meaning and direction to their lives. The create other things to serve and things that distract them from the obvious conflicts God introduces into their lives. Romans, chapter one, details the marks and consequences of human rebellion.
