A Conversation With The Original Cookieman, Wally Amos aka The Cookie Kahuna!

This installment of The Forbidden Fruit has the delicious pleasure of welcoming the Cookie Kahuna, Wally Amos. When he opened the world’s first gourmet cookie store in Los Angeles, Wally Amos declared that all products be HANDMADE from the finest, PURE INGREDIENTS. The taste became renowned. Then Wally famously lost his company. Subsequent corporations changed the ingredients, and the ORIGINAL RECIPE seemed lost. But people remembered the TASTE. Now it is back under Wally’s new brand name, The Cookie Kahuna!

We will also talk with Wally about his passion for reading and helping others to enjoy reading. For 35 years, Wally has been advocating for literacy. Knowing that reading is the basis for all leaning, he created the Read it Loud foundation (www.readitloug.org), asking parents to commit 10 minutes everyday to read to their children.
