These days the stories of racial injustice just don’t stop.  At Dutchtown middle school in Henry County Georgia, two girls, one Black and one White, were accused of writing graffiti on the wall of a gym bathroom.  The Black girl was punished far harsher than her White friend.

This type of biased treatment goes beyond race and has landed squarely in the realm of skin color.  Yes, studies show that darker skinned girls are punished more severely than light skinned ones.

Obviously, students displaying ill behavior must suffer the consequences of their actions.  But the punishment should be the same if the violation is the same.  This injustice has been going on in greater society for far too long.  The question is, will or should society sit idly by while these injustices are perpetrated on the youngest amongst us?  What course of action should be taken to correct this great evil?  These are just a couple of the questions that will be entertained in the Virtual Living Room.
