Raquel Irizarry is a Ditmas Park neighbor that volunteers with (PROP) Police Reform Organizing Project www.policereformorganizingproject.org , a non-profit organization that uses reseach, analysis, coalition builiding to end unjust police practices, with stop and frisk being one of the most egregious.

 
Raquel became involved with PROP in May of this year afer witness two incidents of stop and frisk in the Ditmas Park area in the fall and winter of 2011, and after a someone she knows personally was held at gunpoint during a stop and frisk. Raquel and a team for the Ditmas Park area have collected nearly 200 signatures for the PROP petition against unjust police practices and has spoken to dozens of people raising awareness, educating and empowering individuals about this issue.
