Love is often blind when it comes to external physical qualities, if two souls are truly drawn to each other. What happens when your loved one is of another race, culture and religion? Can families support couples who on the surface appear to have so little in common? What happens if members of your family are hostile toward the race of your loved one? What happens if they are offended by the cultural practices of your loved one? What happens if there are bitter religious conflicts about your loved ones religion? In some instances, people can become hostile to the point of violence about thoses things they are passionate about. Qasim Rashid, author of The Wrong Kind of Muslim, gives an insight on what happens when ones religious sect becomes the subject of attack, even to the point of death threats. How does a couple handle it when one of them is considered to be following the "wrong" religion? Do you accept family ostracism or do you try to educate the ignorant?
