ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP AND TERMS OF SERVICE
The CAB will be made up of a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20 individuals who receive or have received mental health services in New York City.
The CAB membership will reflect the racial, ethnic, gender, cultural and geographic diversity of New York City.
Terms for members will be 3 years from their date of appointment.
i. Members are responsible for proper behavior at all activities of the CAB and will be subject to suspension or removal from the CAB based on any type of abusive behavior, whether verbal, physical, sexual or physiological.
ii. Per Article 120 of New York Penal Law (law of menacing ) & Penal Law 240 (Aggravated Harassment): Any committee member that exhibits threatening behavior such as abusive yelling, violent language, intimidating physical stance, or gestures will be immediately mandated to leave the meeting, event, activity, or industry associated event involving CAB. The dismissed member(s) would not be able to return until after a decision of disciplinary review made by CAB. All violent physical acts are subject to prosecution.
iii. Any CAB or DOMH Staff member who feels that they have been the exposed to abusive behavior should inform the CAB Chairperson, who with the Executive Committee will evaluate and take to appropriate actions, by majority vote, which will be limited to:
