No matter how much we seem to have, we want more. Classic example, I own more shoes than I actually get around to wearing. The logical response would be to stop purchasing shoes, (and give them away) but of course with every season, a new style is introduced and not making the current fashion statement is making a statement – played out. While this is more a personal issue, covetousness – the craving for something that belongs to someone else is more serious and way more universally an issue than we would like to admit. In fact, covetousness is such a problem, to the extent, we desire things our money cannot buy and hope for relationships not within our grasp. The Ten Commandments forbids us from coveting the neighbors, house, wife, servants, transportation and all the other stuff. Why is it we want everything we see?
