How long should parents allow their children to sleep in the bed with them? Should they ever let them sleep in the same bed with them? Maybe as a newborn? An Infant? A toddler? When does the time come to teach children to be a little more independent? Is it the child that needs to sleep with the parents or is it the parents that need the kids to sleep with them? What about 2 parent families? Why would a mom and dad want their children to sleep in the bed with them? When would they have sex?

There are some studies that show that children that sleep with their parents actually become more independent. They also say that children that sleep with their parents share more information and become closer to their parents. Do you think that that's possible?

Are space issues the reason that some parents allow their kids to sleep in the bed with them? Is that understandable? If there are more people in the house than there are beds, does it make sense that parents would have their kids sleep in the bed with them?

Do you think that children who sleep with their parents develop insecurities like thumb sucking, needing security blankets, being afraid of the dark etc.?

Do you think that parents who have fears transfer their fears to their children and make them fear the same things. Ex. If mommy and daddy are afraid of mice, do you think that their children may also be afraid of mice as well? Do these things develop more because of children sleeping with their parents?
