Who Are You Calling a B-----?!

Back in the day, the “B-word” was used by only the roughest and toughest of men to cut a woman down to her lowest level. Now, the word is used so frequently that even prime time television doesn’t censor it. Not only is the word used by the hardcore thugged out brothers, but even women use the word to proudly refer to themselves. Once excused as the word used to describe only certain women, the word now is used to replace the word “woman” in even the most general of contexts. Most hip hop artists seem to forget that there are any other words to use when referring to a woman, even one they are attracted to. And, it seems, the word is used more pervasively in the African American culture than in any other. Is it a true reflection of what our men think of us, all of us? Who are you calling a b-----, and why?
