Relationships are based on predictability. Predictability is based on behaving in a particular manner. In a post economic correction, buyers want to have a relationship with business where trust in delivery, service and performance is as expected. They want clear communication. They want positive support. They want to feel that they can depend on the business to be there for their present and future needs and give them service and value. One point made in the programme is that over time, the concept of keeping your word changes. Once upon a time, the belief system about certain products was one thing but over time, the knowledge has changed and we are learning that what we thought to be true, is different. Our comments about tradesmen and lawyers and cigarette companies are just an example of how changing knowledge, changes the perception of truth and performance.
