Dr. Barnard and Lee Fulkerson discuss how and why he founded the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine, what its goals are, and some of its notable accomplishments.  Dr. Barnard reveals what PCRM is working on now, the obstacles faced by the organization, and his strategies for overcoming those hurdles.  They also talk about Dr. Barnard’s personal adoption of a plant-based diet and how his family and friends reacted to his dietary change.  Dr. Barnard shares his hopes for the future of PCRM and the entire plant-based movement.

 

Neal Barnard, M.D. is an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., and president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.  Dr. Barnard has also authored more than 70 scientific publications and 17 bestselling books.
